Holy crap. Martha Plimpton is playing the mother to a twenty-something on a new show on Fox. She is playing a grandmother. How is that possible? Martha Plimpton? When did that happen? When did she become an actor who could play the mother to someone who is over 20? 

Fuck me I am old. I remember hating Martha Plimpton when I was a teenager because River Phoenix loved her. I also remember reading what she said about his death and hating her a lot less (this article). Geez I cried so hard when he died. What a fucking waste of talent.

According to early reviews, the show - Raising Hope - is good. Cloris Leachman is in it, and she is always good for a giggle. It also has the coveted post Glee spot. I dunno if I will watch it.

I don’t think I can get over the fact that she is playing mother to a twenty-something year old. I really cannot wrap  my head around that. Imagine if River was still alive - would he be playing the dad role in films? Can you imagine him being a dad to a teenager in a movie? How surreal would that be?

My night is now shot as I google River Phoenix and wonder what would have been.
